Mission Statement
To do and create Christian Ministry for Senior Adults
with the resources of the Florida Christian Center.
The Florida Christian Community Center is an 8,246 square foot one story building that shares the campus with Sundale Manor and Florida Christian Apartments. The Center is a gathering place for residents where they meet for fellowship, classes and other group activities.
Ministry and pastoral care is extended to the residents of the 270 HUD apartments at neighboring Sundale Manor and Florida Christian Apartments.
A local board of directors is comprised of members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Florida Christian Center is committed to helping provide for the physical needs of senior adults and as such, offers amenities including a chapel, auditorium, kitchen, television studio (which broadcasts to the residents of Florida Christian Apartments and Sundale Manor), therapeutic pool, a well equipped exercise room and a health and rehabilitation facility. A large assembly area with an elevated stage is used for health fairs, entertainment groups and a variety of other beneficial events. Part of the assembly area is portioned off for regular worship services. A beautiful stained glass window sits behind the elevated area for the pulpit.
Completing the choices of amenities are an ice cream parlor, plenty of ‘sitting and visiting’ areas with comfortable furniture and meeting rooms.
