CSCA

Christian Services for Children in Alabama (CSCA) is very proud of the role it has played in helping to decrease the number of children and youth entering the Alabama Foster Care System. CSCA provides treatment and care to children and youth who come to attention of the State due to exposure to and risk of abuse (sexual, physical, and emotional) and neglect. Click here to read more about CSCA.

Chaplaincy Care

One of the NBA chaplains says, “I love being a Chaplain with our DBS Chaplaincy care program for as many reasons as there are different people with their various needs. When I was first called into the ministry, I really felt like God called me to be a minister with a church setting. It was not until I did my Clinical Pastoral Education internship at local mental health hospital that I discovered my true calling of pastoral care. When my CPE supervisor told us five, green seminarian students to go to the various units of the hospital, we were all nervous, but I had a confidence in that hospital setting that could only have been God given.” Click here to read more about Chaplaincy Care.

Social Work

Sabrina is a licensed social worker with Christian Services for Children in Alabama, working with 10- to 17-year-old children and youth. These young people come from very difficult and abusive environments, where their own pain and struggles are so intense it’s all they can do to cope, much less have concern for others. Click here to read more about Sabrina’s work.

ECHO

Back in the day when ECHO was a residential facility, its ministry was directed to the children and youth who called the campus home – regardless of the length of their stay. Since May 2008, when the last of its government funding sources dried up, ECHO has directed its efforts to an externally-focused ministry, primarily to the children and youth in the area surrounding its North St. Louis campus. Situated in the midst of some of the poorest communities in the metropolitan area, ECHO is seen by many as the extended hand of Christ in its outreach to the community, offering a variety of programs and resources designed for the betterment of community and its residents. Click here to read more about ECHO.
