NBA Giving Month

Celebrate and Support the Ministries of NBA!

Throughout September, join us for NBA Giving Week Month! Over this month, we seek to raise awareness about Disciples health and social services and invite you to make a difference to NBA ministries by making a gift. Your gift provides for the nurture and development of communities of compassion and care. Unite with other Disciples and NBA friends to support your health and social service general ministry with a special gift this month. Your gift allows NBA to carry the work of Jesus forward — work we see as the spirit of our faith embodied, and the future of the church in the world.

Our bold vision is to empower leaders and innovative, effective social enterprises toward liberated communities and a more just world.

Read on for more bold visions from NBA Trustees, Staff, and Partner Leaders!

My bold vision is that all persons and communities within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) are provided with education, support, and access to basic structured mental health resources and care.
Joselyn Spence, M.Div, LPC, ATR, CCTP, RYT, NBA Director of Mental Health & Wellness

My bold vision is that NBA continues to grow in ways that will sustain the kinds of imaginative programming that reaches people and communities across the church. I also hope that more people will hear the stories and learn about the transformative health and social service ministries offered by NBA and their partners. The NBA’s impact and care is both deep and wide.
Rev. Dr. Jacque Foster, Chair of the NBA Board of Trustees

Underserved young adult communities and groups being served in equitable co-created spaces. This is my bold vision for the Young Adult Leadership Development program. As NBA’s newest director for this initiative, I hope to work with all communities within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to establish this vision.
Dr. Tene Davis, NBA Director of Young Adult Leadership Development

When I think about my bold vision for ministry with and for young adults today, two words come to mind, legacy and discipleship. For me, these two things are important for cultivating and growing authentic leaders to advance God’s kingdom. Discipleship comes from a genuine connection and relationship with Jesus and this results in us being able to share our experiences with our peers, mentors, and community.  Legacy involves us passing on the wisdoms that we have learned. From my experiences with YALE, I boldly vision to be authentic in my discipleship with Jesus and to share — in the spirit of legacy — how I live my faith with the next generations.
— Isaac Elizarraras, Co-Facilitator, YALE (Young Adult Leadership Experience) Peer Learning & Wellness Group
