For many of us\, these groups have been places of honesty\, growth\, care\, and shared wisdom. During our time together\, we hope to create room for reflection\, reconnection\, and conversation—honoring the relationships and practices that have shaped this community and listening together for what the next chapter may be calling forth for the Peer Learning and Wellness Groups program. \nPlease note that availability space for the in‑person gathering is limited. NBA’s leadership development grants are designed to enhance and promote the health\, well-being\, and skill development of organizational leaders. \nExecutives and Leaders of Disciples-affiliated Health and Social Service organizations are eligible to apply for Leadership Development Grants up to $1000 per year. Grant funding may cover courses\, seminars\, workshops\, or coaching that enhance the knowledge and skill set of organizational leaders to work more effectively. DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThrough NBA’s Young Adult Leadership Development (YALD) program area\, we seek to co-create spaces with and for young adults 18-30 to flourish in life and service. NBA’s YALD grants are specifically designed to support current and future leaders in identifying their leadership qualities\, building leadership capacity\, and allowing young adults to explore new possibilities in the areas of service and justice. Young adults are eligible to apply for either a Development Grant or an Exploration/Ingenuity Grant. \nDevelopment Grants\nThese grants are intended for: \n\nYoung adults working in a health and social service profession seeking additional training to enhance their knowledge/skills to be more effective in their current role or seeking to advance beyond that role.\nYoung adults seeking more broad leadership training to hone specific skills in church or community leadership (ex. diversity\, equity\, inclusion\, and belonging training\, conflict transformation\, community organizer training\, etc.)\nYoung adults seeking assistance for formal courses related to fields of study in health and social services.\n\nExploration/Ingenuity Grants\nThis grant is for young adults who desire to pursue a passion project\, social enterprise idea\, or advance a project they already started. Those who are selected to be apart of our SENT Cohort will participate in an ongoing process of learning & development of their projects. \nThe Cohort experience will provide a tailored curriculum to help launch their projects. Over 12 months\, our group will participate in four Cohort Huddles: a combination of virtual workshops and in-person gatherings. Throughout this process\, our Cohort will be provided with specialized coaching to help support and strengthen their social enterprise. Bere Gil Soto serves as the Director of Young Adult Leadership Development at NBA. With experience as a therapist\, pastor\, and non-profit consultant\, Bere brings a heart for holistic growth to her role. She sees the young adults in her programs as her congregation\, bringing her pastoral heart and therapeutic training to guide emerging leaders as whole persons who integrate their spirituality with their leadership calling. Bere’s approach is grounded in liberation\, empowerment\, and the belief that authentic leadership flows from understanding one’s complete self in connection and commitment to the community. Her own journey reflects the power of intergenerational mentorship—honoring those who believed in her calling at a young age while paying that legacy forward by creating pathways for the next generation of leaders. Bere holds a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary\, and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí in México. She is an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. \nRev. Managerrie Winston is a minister\, educator\, and advocate committed to creating spaces where all people regardless of age\, identity\, or background can belong and thrive. She currently serves as Youth and Young Adult Ministries Coordinator with Disciples Home Missions of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)\, where she equips emerging leaders to grow\, heal\, and lead with purpose. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Texas Southern University\, with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising and a minor in Radio\, Film\, and Television. Her own journey reflects the power of intergenerational mentorship—honoring those who believed in her calling at a young age while paying that legacy forward by creating pathways for the next generation of leaders. Bere holds a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary\, and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí in México. She is an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. \nRev. Managerrie Winston is a minister\, educator\, and advocate committed to creating spaces where all people regardless of age\, identity\, or background can belong and thrive. She currently serves as Youth and Young Adult Ministries Coordinator with Disciples Home Missions of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)\, where she equips emerging leaders to grow\, heal\, and lead with purpose. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Texas Southern University\, with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising and a minor in Radio\, Film\, and Television. Rev. Winston is presently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Christian Theological Seminary. Additionally\, she and her husband\, Eric\, are co-owners of The Newman Group of Indianapolis\, where they have taught thousands of individuals how to make their money make sense while helping others build successful financial services businesses. Cynthia is a graduate of Purdue University and a Commissioned Minister at Light of the World Church. She is currently pursuing her Master of Divinity at Christian Theological Seminary. She previously served as the Minister of Clergy Economic Empowerment for the Christian Church in Indiana and as Project Director of FLOURISH!\, where she led the development of the Indiana Region’s Clergy Economic Empowerment initiative. Together\, we expand the church’s understanding of and capacity for health and social service ministry as part of Christ’s work in the world. \nIn alignment with the NBA’s commitment to prioritize the work of reconciliation and anti-racism\, the Social Entrepreneurship Program is dedicated to supporting and uplifting social enterprises that are led by or serve historically marginalized\, under-represented\, and under-resourced people groups.
