First Christian Chruch, Salem

First Christian Church was founded in 1855 in Salem, Oregon. The congregation hosts children and youth ministries, men and women groups, several adult Sunday School classes, and works to serve unsheltered neighbors and at-risk youth in the community.

Mission: To reach, teach and release people to know, love, and serve God and others.

The Youth Empowerment Culinary Program seeks to equip and empower at-risk (and/or homeless) youth ages 14-17 of any and all ethnic and cultural backgrounds by offering job and life skills training in a kitchen setting. Young people are able to build confidence in prepping healthy meals which can lead to internships with YEP’s multiple partners across Salem city and Marion county.
