SafeSpot 509 College: A Teen Safety Net
Woodland Christian Church, Woodland, CA
SafeSpot 509 College: A Teen Safety Net provides a safe, affordable after school environment for 7th and 8th graders on a drop-in basis for +15 enrolled youth. The program will run from 3:00-5:30pm every school day. Supervised games, homework time, outdoor recreation, and special activities will be featured.
A service option called “WeSERVE” (Service Education and Respect for Varied Environments) will be added in September 2019. This program teams six participants each day to volunteer in a local non-profit. The WeSERVE extension will be organized, supervised and delivered by a youth pastor intern. This program component bolsters the long-term academic and scholarship resume for students, the professional experience of adults interested in faith-based careers, and promotes the desired organizational culture of the program.
