UrbanMission Community Partners

Pomona, CA

UrbanMission Community Partners (UMCP) is excited to announce its status as an NBA Affiliate Ministry in the NBA Incubate Initiative!

Located on the campus of UrbanMission (a UCC/DOC new church start), UMCP is a community-focused nonprofit organization that seeks community wholeness, resilience, and sustainability in the Pomona area of Los Angeles County, California, by working with families and individuals at risk from poverty, hunger, homelessness, incarceration, and/or inadequate education and healthcare.

Incorporated late in 2015 to extend the work and interactions initiated by the UrbanMission church community, UMCP has an ambitious dream.

In cooperation with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), the United Church of Christ, as well as other denominations, faith communities, neighborhoods, community organizations, and public/government entities, UMCP actively seeks out and develops opportunities to empower and walk with our community towards a brighter tomorrow.

This includes but is not limited to: Social service provision to individuals, families, and neighborhoods at risk from poverty, hunger, homelessness, incarceration, and/or inadequate education and health care. Other opportunities for UMCP’s intended work include involvement in nonviolent civic engagement; advocacy for social uplift in local, state, and national legislation; urban agriculture; supportive and transitional housing for vulnerable populations; and deeply inclusive neighborhoods.
