Why did you say “yes” to the NBA Board of Trustees?

Historically, the NBA has helped Disciples create and develop ministries that touch the lives of the most vulnerable among us. I said yes to serving on the NBA Board because I've witnessed the positive impact that the different programs have in our communities and congregations. I think, each one of the programs that the NBA offers, says something fundamental about issues that matter to the church and that are closest to the heart of God.

The NBA’s vision statement is “creating communities of compassion and care.” What does that mean to you?

I think it's empowering because it reminds us what's the purpose of being church.
