Getting to know Larry

Why do you feel "called to care" about Disciples health and social service ministry?

Jesus commands his followers to love God and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. I understand love to be an action word which works to build beloved community wherever we may find ourselves. Supporting Disciples health and social service ministries is one of the ways I feel that I am living out the call to love God and my neighbor.

Who is a hero of yours, and why?

My mother is a hero of mine. I’ve watched her enjoy life, love God, serve the church, and persevere through the various challenges of life. Oh, and I think she loves like God. Those are heroic qualities to me.

If I tried to find you in a supermarket, what aisle would you be in?

You would find me in the magazine aisle eating ice-cream and flipping through magazines.
