Getting to Know Amy

Why do you feel “called to care” about Disciples health and social service ministry?

The long history of the organization and the impact it has had for over 130 years while remaining financially stable. I felt a real sense of compassion from a community of driven individuals who really wanted to make a difference.

Who is a hero of yours, and why?

My grandmother was a wonderful soul who loved and had true compassion for everyone.  All who knew her felt special for having had known her. She cared for many children and older adults in her retirement years. The testimony from the family and individuals of how her compassion and love changed their lives and brought peace of mind left them forever changed and grateful. She was a true example of how one person can truly make an impact on the lives of others and her legacy was very special to me as her granddaughter.

If I tried to find you in a supermarket, what aisle would you be in?

Honestly, I shop online now and love it! However, again truthfully, if I had to go to the grocery store, I would be in the snack aisle. We love chips and dips, candy, etc. at our house. Not healthy but fun!
