Associate Vice President of Development
The Associate Vice President of Development (AVP of Development) conceives and implements strategies designed to realize the NBA’s philanthropic goals through such vehicles as annual fundraising, major gifts, endowed and legacy gifts, grants and foundations, and an overall comprehensive development strategy. In collaboration with Development leadership, the position provides guidance and oversight for designing and implementing recognition strategies, creates platforms that build and retain donor loyalty and commitment, and inspires continued philanthropic giving to the organization.
The NBA expects the AVP of Development to be a mission-focused development professional with an understanding of, and commitment to, a faith-affiliated nonprofit that values equity and systemic racial justice approaches in addressing and collaborating around health and social service issues. As a nonprofit serving in the U.S. and Canada, NBA seeks to accompany and partner with diverse communities and stakeholders. We highly value intersectionality and cross-cultural communications. The AVP of Development is expected to lead by building collaborative partnerships and with demonstrated ability to create an organizational culture with a strong team orientation, a high tolerance for ambiguity, the ability to adapt quickly to change, and effectively within NBA’s stated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Development Associate
The NBA Development Associate will oversee the coordination and tracking of development activities including yet not limited to gift processing, acknowledgment processes, database management, reporting, and reconciliation. The Development Associate will support the staff to implement and achieve goals in annual fundraising, major gifts, and planned giving. A successful Development Associate will be familiar with NBA’s overall development activities and maintain a mastery of the development database, Raiser’s Edge, to effectively support NBA’s fundraising efforts.

.50 FTE Administrative Associate–Event Support
The Administrative Associate – Event Support will coordinate with NBA’s program department one the multiplicity of in-person events that happen in a year. A successful Administrative Associate will be hospitality-driven, organized, and calm under stress, and have the ability to represent NBA in professional settings as the representative of the organization to location contacts, caterers, hotel managers, and other program support.
