We are called by God to serve older adults and persons with special needs as a living witness and response to our Christian faith. The Florida Christian Center provides activities and pastoral care to more than 300 residents in three buildings. Sundale Manor Apartments and Florida Christian Apartments provide subsidized housing for senior and disabled adults. The Edgewood Condominiums is also a senior community on site.

The FCC seeks to serve these adults by honoring the body, mind, and spirit. With a full-time Activity Director and full-time Chaplain/Executive Director, we provide an array of services for our residents, including transportation to appointments, to the grocery, and to other outings for special events and socializing. Our exercise room and therapy pool, as well as our health and wellness classes (including yoga), help residents keep moving and maintain physical health. Our weekly worship services, chaplain visits, classes, and study groups help residents maintain spiritual and emotional health.

We are a unique community who got our start through the National Benevolent Association of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the early 1920s. We depend on the support of the community to carry out our mission and are grateful for donations to keep us thriving.

As a result, these residents are not able to integrate fully into the life offered by the ministry of the Florida Christian Center. This project will provide funding for a Program Coordinator to be hired part-time for one year starting to develop and implement a program and resources to enable Spanish-only speaking residents to participate in programs and activities, receive information in their language, and feel a part of the community.
