SquareOne Villages is a nonprofit organization in Eugene, Oregon, with a mission to create self-managed communities of low-cost tiny houses for people in need of housing.
SquareOne has three projects that provide stable, safe and sustainable places for people in need of housing through alternative, cost-effective approaches.

Opportunity Village Eugene provides transitional or homeless shelter for approximately 30 adults who otherwise would be homeless. Our other two projects are tiny house affordable housing co-ops in which residents collectively own the buildings and SquareOne acts as a community land trust to maintain the use of the land for affordable housing in perpetuity. Emerald Village Eugene is a co-op with 22 tiny homes. We are currently constructing Cottage Village, a 13-home tiny house affordable housing co-op being built in the rural community of Cottage Grove.

Our affordable housing co-ops are designed to enable individuals and couples living on very minimal income to pay for their own housing without other public subsidies. Further, utilizing the skills and gifts of volunteers for construction, these villages provide a wonderful opportunity for others to positively impact the quality of life for everyone in the community.

Currently, SquareOne is planning a mini-village of six small housing units on a residential lot, with construction to begin in late 2020. Plans are also underway for an affordable housing co-op of 35 tiny houses and cottages, to constructed in 2022.

Rev. Dan Bryant serves as executive director for SquareOne Villages. Formerly, he served as the pastor of First Christian Church of Eugene in Eugene, Oregon.
