Getting to Know Jasmine

Why do you feel “called to care” about Disciples health and social service ministry?

As a person of deep faith, I believe it is the work of us all to remember the beatitudes in the book of Matthew Chapter 5 in the Bible. These were a “series of blessings” declared by Jesus. One of these were, “blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” We are called to care and extend mercy for others in the same ways we hope and desire mercy for ourselves.

Who is a hero of yours, and why?

My grandmother is my shero, she embodied selflessness and service to others. She loved God, her neighbors, and her family, so much. If you visited her home, you would always find someone new eating at her table. She loved to cook and feed the hungry. This might have been why her home was filled with love, and those who received care.

If I tried to find you in a supermarket, what aisle would you be in?

I don’t have a specific aisle. If I had to choose an aisle, it would be the coffee aisle. I love to smell coffee from different countries.
