Rev. Janetta Cravens

Rev. Janetta Cravens is a 3-D strategist, researcher, and systems thinker known for creating high performance with mindful sustainable leadership for global change. As a consultant, she works to mobilize outcome-based change for a more just world. She is an Executive Coach, governance consultant, and strategic planner who motivates leaders to create sustainable growth by balancing leadership styles that model honesty and transparency while driving for results and impact.

Janetta has managed and supervised efforts in poverty elimination, anti-racism initiatives, inter-religious community impact actions, and advocacy efforts for LGBTQ+ and their allies. In practice, she is a mentor, leader, and analyst who believes in every person and organization with whom she works.

She has received a Compassionate Leadership Certificate from Stanford University, and a Trauma Sensitive (TCTSY Methodology) Certificate from the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at the Justice Resource Institute in Boston, Massachusettes. Additionally, she is a BoardSource Certified Governance Consultant and has received her Certificate in Fundraising Management (CFRM) from the Lily School of Philanthropy.

Janetta holds a post-graduate fellowship in Organizational Design and Development from the Hollifield Leadership Institute, a Masters Degree in Ecumenical Theology from the University of Geneva, a Masters of Divinity from Vanderbilt University, and a Bachelors of Music from Phillips University.

I said yes to joining the NBA Board of Trustees because I appreciate Mark’s dedication and leadership. I am excited to support the board’s development and growth as we continue the mission and support services the NBA offers.

Compassion is the central understanding of a better humanity.
