Soulcare Moments: Anchored In Hope
While the holidays can bring joy and celebration, we recognize that this season can also bring stress, grief, and uncertainty. With so much happening right now in our families, congregations, and communities, making time to care for ourselves and our well-being is especially important.
With that in mind, NBA’s Mental Health & Wellness program invites you to join us for this year’s Soulcare Holiday campaign, Anchored in Hope, taking place from November 1st-December 31st.
Each week we'll share scripture, a brief reflection, and easy Soulcare practices and invitations to encourage you to slow down, embrace moments of rest, and remain grounded in hope.
Here's how you can soul care: follow our weekly post, take a few minutes to try the soul care practices and invitations, and share the reflections with someone who might benefit from the encouragement. You're also welcome to share your own reflections along the way here!
We also invite you to join us on Tuesday, December 15th at 3:00pm ET/2:00pm CT for a special Soulcare Moments: Anchored in Hope Virtual Evening of Rest, Reflection & Collective Hope! There is no cost to attend but registration is required. Plan to join us on December 15th!
Our hope is that throughout this season, you will find meaningful ways to care for yourself and one another. We look forward to having you join us as we journey through this season together, anchored in hope.
Weekly Resources
Part 1: November – Cultivating the Soil of the Heart
Week 1: Cultivating Stillness
Before the season speeds up, take a moment to slow down. Stillness creates space to reconnect with God, quiet our thoughts, and remember where our hope is anchored. Where can you make room for a few quiet moments today?
Scripture: Psalm 46:10 – "Be still, and know that I am God."
SoulCare Practice: Gentle Breathing. Take a few slow, comfortable breaths. Breathe in gently through your nose, then exhale slowly, letting your body and mind settle. Repeat for one minute to create a moment of calm.
SoulCare Invitation: Set aside one quiet minute each day to practice gentle breathing. As you inhale, silently pray, “Be still,” and as you exhale, “And know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).
