This dynamic three-part webinar series empowers youth and young adults to reimagine their relationship with money. Hosted in partnership between Disciples Home Mission’s YAYA Ministries and NBA’s Young Adult Leadership Development Program, each session combines practical financial tools with in-depth reflection on money as a tool, a privilege, and a responsibility.
Participants will explore:
- Mindset: Unpacking family stories, spiritual wisdom, and historical context around money.
- Behavior: Building financial agency through budgeting, intentional spending, and foundational habits.
- Legacy: Planning for the future with strategic saving, debt management, investing, and generosity.
Part 1
In this first part of the series, featuring Sophia M. Barnett of Making A Child Change Foundation, Rev. Managerrie Winston of Disciples Home Missions, and NBA’s Director of Young Adult Leadership Development Rev. Bere Gil Soto, we focused on changing the mindset around money, exploring how personal, cultural, and spiritual narratives shape financial behaviors and beliefs.
Part 2
This second installment in the series, featuring Cynthia Newman of The Newman Group, Rev. Managerrie Winston of Disciples Home Missions, and NBA’s Director of Young Adult Leadership Development Rev. Bere Gil Soto, looks at how youth and young adults can develop positive behaviors around how they budget their money, intentionally spend their money, and possess foundational habits about money are critical to financial literacy.

This final installment in the series, featuring Kristen Ahlenius of Your Money Line, Rev. Managerrie Winston of Disciples Home Missions, and NBA’s Director of Young Adult Leadership Development Rev. Bere Gil Soto, explores investing and how to build a financial legacy by planning for the future with strategic saving, debt management, investing, and generosity.
