NBA Launches New Vodcast on Social Media and Addiction Among Young Adults
February 6, 2026 | by NBA Cares

How is technology designed to keep us scrolling through our social media feeds? Can digital community truly meet our need for connection, or does it isolate us? What does psychology tell us about FOMO, identity and success through a social media lens? These questions and more are explored in NBA’s new vodcast series Holy Scrolls!
Holy Scrolls! features a Gen-Z and Millennial exploring social media addiction among young adults. Hosted by NBA’s Young Adult Leadership Development Director Rev. Bere Gil Soto and former NBA Mental Health & Wellness Program Coordinator Cameron Cunningham, along with special guests, this six-part series offers an insightful look at how digital environments shape daily life and how young adults can reclaim balance in an increasingly screen‑saturated world.
“This vodcast is a conversation around social media, young adults, and specifically the ways that technology shape our mental health relationships and even our spiritual lives,” says Rev. Bere Gil Soto, NBA’s Director of Young Adult Leadership Development. “Weaving psychology, lived experience and faith as our grounding lenses, we hope that this conversation can spark people to examine and reflect about their own relationship with their digital footprint and social media.”
The vodcast launched in early February. Episode 1 is now available, and a new episode will be released each Tuesday on NBA’s website and YouTube channel. Learn more about the Holy Scrolls! vodcast and catch each episode by clicking here.
