Rev. Dr. Carla Perkins
Rev. Dr. Carla S. Perkins serves as the Director of Mental Health and Wellness at NBA. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience, Rev. Dr. Perkins has led behavioral health initiatives across community mental health, crisis response, child welfare, healthcare, and faith-based organizations. Her work focuses on strengthening communities through clinical leadership, workforce development, training, and innovative partnerships that expand access to compassionate, culturally competent, person-centered mental health care.
As an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. Dr. Perkins is passionate about integrating faith and behavioral health to promote holistic wellness, resilience, and hope. She believes meaningful change happens when individuals and communities are equipped with practical tools, trusted relationships, and opportunities to thrive.
Rev. Dr. Perkins holds degrees from the University at Albany, SUNY (BA Sociology), Columbia University School of Social Work (MS Social Work), and the University of the Potomac (EdD Organizational Leadership), and remains committed to serving others through leadership, collaboration, and a deep belief in the power of healing and transformation.
