Why did you say yes to serving on the NBA Board of Trustees?

I said yes to the NBA board because of continued respect for their work to strengthen and transform communities.  NBA’s focus on compassion, healing, and justice, aligns well with my guiding principles.  On a more personal level, NBA was a part of my journey to push for and establish a best practices Community Oversight Board in Nashville Tennessee.

NBA’s vision statement is “Creating Communities of Compassion and Care.” What does that mean to you?

This statement expands on the Jesus’ command to “Love God and one another”  and challenges our church and humanity to go beyond assisting the needy to addressing and combating the systemic structures that keep many on the margins of society.
