This is the third session of a dynamic three-part webinar series that empowers youth and young adults to reimagine their relationship with money. Hosted in partnership between Disciples Home Mission’s YAYA Ministries and NBA’s Young Adult Leadership Development Program, each session combines practical financial tools with in-depth reflection on money as a tool, a privilege, and a responsibility.
Participants will explore:
- Mindset: Unpacking family stories, spiritual wisdom, and historical context around money.
- Behavior: Building financial agency through budgeting, intentional spending, and foundational habits.
- Legacy: Planning for the future with strategic saving, debt management, investing, and generosity.

Speakers
Rev. Bere Gil Soto serves as the Director of Young Adult Leadership Development at NBA. With experience as a therapist, pastor, and non-profit consultant, Bere brings a heart for holistic growth to her role. She sees the young adults in her programs as her congregation, bringing her pastoral heart and therapeutic training to guide emerging leaders as whole persons who integrate their spirituality with their leadership calling. Bere’s approach is grounded in liberation, empowerment, and the belief that authentic leadership flows from understanding one’s complete self in connection and commitment to the community. Her own journey reflects the power of intergenerational mentorship—honoring those who believed in her calling at a young age while paying that legacy forward by creating pathways for the next generation of leaders. Bere holds a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary, and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí in México. She is an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada.
Rev. Managerrie Winston is a minister, educator, and advocate committed to creating spaces where all people regardless of age, identity, or background can belong and thrive. She currently serves as Youth and Young Adult Ministries Coordinator with Disciples Home Missions of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), where she equips emerging leaders to grow, heal, and lead with purpose. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Texas Southern University, with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising and a minor in Radio, Film, and Television. Rev. Winston is presently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Christian Theological Seminary. Her work includes the development of SELF, an affirming curriculum that nurtures the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of youth navigating today’s challenges. She also facilitates intergenerational trainings, creates faith formation resources, and organizes transformative gatherings such as Blooming to Plant: Going Beyond the Perimeter Training, which equips pastors and volunteers to cultivate ministries that welcome, affirm, and empower.
