An NBA Innovative Conversation Group
Resourcing Congregations and Clergy on Spiritual Care for Older Adults
Welcome to this page for collaboration and expansion of ministries with older adults from the NBA Innovative Conversation Group on Older Adult Ministries!
Q: What are NBA Innovative Conversation Groups?
A: The NBA supports intentional innovative conversations about emerging needs and ideas by convening cohort groups of Disciples leaders, creating space that allows for deepened effectiveness in resourcing the church on forward-leaning health and social service issues.
Q: Who are the NBA Innovative Conversation Group on Older Adult Ministries?
A: The NBA Innovative Conversation [IC] group about Older Adult Ministries comprises leaders from Disciples health and social service organizations, congregations, regions, and ecumenical partners. This IC group met regularly for 12 months to discuss and envision ministry opportunities with older adults in the life of the Christian Church. Their goal—set at the start of the 12-month journey—is rooted in innovation and progress at the intersections of health and social service ministry and the larger church:
Goal: To offer awareness and resources to congregations and communities regarding the concerns of older adults related to loneliness, meaning-making, and sense of purpose.
Q: If I have questions about NBA Innovative Conversation Groups or about the NBA’s work with older adults, who can I contact?
A: Contact the NBA via email at NBA@NBAcares.org.

Knowing our older adults (ages 65+) are vital to the life and health of our congregations and communities, we are directing efforts to learn about existing programs and resources that utilize and serve their spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. With that in mind, we would appreciate your taking a few minutes to answer the survey that applies to you.
